Colin Spalding :

Carnival artist, Colin Spalding, creates mas!  

With over twenty years experience in the carnival craft industry, Colin Spalding is a dynamic designer and craftsman and is celebrated for his ingenious technique in lightweight frame and costume building.                                 

In addition to his design and frame building skills, Colin’s expertise extends to design consultancy and conducting workshops for all ages and abilities. 

He is based in Luton and leads popular local ‘mas’ band Rampage- the UK’s number one touring band that averages more than a dozen carnival and cultural events annually. Moreover, Colin, works extensively across the country and has left his mark on carnival creations found in Notting Hill, Leeds, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Northampton, Coventry, the Isle of Wight and even France, Italy and Israel. His recent return from carnival 2008 in Carnival Mecca, Trinidad , sees Colin celebrating successes after having collaborated on the design and production of several winning creations for both adult and junior carnival costumes as well as the costume for the International Soca Monarch. At present, he continues to create mas with top names in the business.
