The Pelican is the national bird of St Kitts-Nevis and Barbados.

Our group wanted to reflect a selection of the finest tropical birds from various Caribbean islands for our 2007 carnival theme.  With this plan in mind, the group challenged Colin to design three major costumes to reflect the colourful vibrancy of such beautiful creatures.  One of these designs stands before you as “The Pelican”.  Magnificent isn’t it! 

Our Pelican is nestling on the calm waves of the Caribbean Sea.  As you can see, she has just caught her supper.  I bet you’re wondering whether she will chew or swallow it whole?  We will leave it your imagination.

We hope that we have captured and shared with you the beauty of this picturesque vision.  Please enjoy.
